The entry requirements are that you have completed a minimum of 3 GCSE's (grades A-C) and 2 A-levels (grade A-C) or equivalent or you can apply based upon a minimum of three years’ relevant work experience and the support of your employer.
CIPFA do allow exemptions whether you have an academic qualification or have completed a professional accountancy course from AAT, CIMA or ACCA.

This CIPFA course is aimed at accountancy professionals that require an understanding of treasury in the public services. It is aimed at staff working within the treasury management area of their firm or where there is a desire to understand the wider issues within treasury management.
The CIPFA Certificate in Charity Finance and Accountancy facilitates understanding in transparency and accountability in charity reporting. The course also trains the accounting professional to understand the origins of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) for charities and how it goes beyond the company formats taught in generic accountancy courses.
The Complexity of VAT for the Voluntary & Community Sector is also assessed amongst other specialist subject relating to this accounting niche.

The course was devised by Warwick Business School (WBS) and CIPFA to produce two leadership and management programmes designed specifically for the public and voluntary services. The course was a two year modular programme which provides various benefits:
1. Full Chartered Public Finance Accountancy (CPFA) professional qualification
2. CIPFA membership
3. A Warwick Diploma
This accountancy course was aimed at Finance Directors and executive managers from across the public and third sectors who do not hold a professional accountancy qualification.
Like the The Warwick Diploma in Public Finance and Leadership, this course is 18-month programme which upon completion gives two full years’ Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and a Warwick Diploma.
The qualification was aimed at qualified accountants in senior management posts who aspire to reach executive director level. It is worthwhile checking with CIPFA is they are currently taking enrollments.
