Chartered Institute for Securities Investment

The CISI Certificate programmes are considered a broad set of qualifications that have been formulated to meet the requirements of banking professionals working in the securities and derivatives markets. Fundamental to this UK banking qualification is the requirement of having to obtain Financial Services Authority (FSA) Approved Person status. Students must ensure that they take the Certificate that is appropriate to the activity they are to undertake.

The Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment Level 3 Certificates in Investments are internationally recognised qualifications aimed at professionals working in regulated firms. Typically such bannking professionals will be involved in managing investments on behalf of clients and will be giving advice on investments or selling investments to, and on behalf of, their clients.

The CISI Certificates are awarded to candidates who pass one of the regulatory units: FSA Financial Regulation (retail) or Principles of Financial Regulation (wholesale), plus the required technical unit(s).

There are six different investment qualifications composed of two units for delegates working in wholesale and three units if delegates work in a retail focused role. The additional CISI Certificates inclues:
