Introductory Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting

This course requires no work experience at all.

The course comprises of three exams:

  1. Recording Financial Transactions (FA1) | Written Exam
  2. Management Information (MA1) | Written Exam
  3. Foundations in Professionalism | Written Exam

Intermediate Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting

If you have already completed the Introductory Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting you are exempt from taking the third listed exam: Foundations in Professionalism.

  2. Management Information (MA2) | Written Exam
  3. Foundations in Professionalism | Written Exam

Diploma in Accounting and Business

This Diploma is suitable for anyone looking to do an introductory qualification in accounting and finance, including school leavers or those already working in account-support roles. The ability level is broadly equivalent to the first year of a degree programme/HND.

If you don't have any previous academic qualifications you can complete the Diploma but you will need to register on Foundations in Accountancy. However, you may wish to complete ACCA's Introductory Certificate and/or the Intermediate Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting before attempting the Diploma.

There are two routes for completing this course. Route 1 is for those that do not have any formal qualifications or you have completed the Introductory and/or Intermediate Certificate in Financial and Management Accounting.

Route 2 is for those with qualifications that the minimum entry requirements to start your ACCA Qualification, you can achieve the Diploma on the way to gaining your ACCA Qualification.

Route 1

  3. Financial Accounting (FFA) | Written Exam
  4. Foundations in Professionalism | Written Exam

Route 2

CAT Qualification

The CAT Qualification is suitable for anyone who wants a solid foundation of knowledge in finance and accounting. It will provide you with all the technical skills and knowledge you need to perform an accounting-support role and work at a technician level. No previous academic qualifications are required to study for this qualification. The ability level is broadly equivalent to the first year of a degree programme/HND. The qualification is part of the Foundations in Accountancy suite of awards.

The course comprises of nine exams,(you might be exempt from some):

  1. Recording Financial Transactions (FA1) | Written Exam
  2. Management Information (MA1) | Written Exam
  3. Maintaining Financial Records (FA2) | Written Exam
  4. Maintaining Costs and Finance (MA2) | Written Exam
  5. Accountant in Business (FAB) | Written Exam

  7. Financial Accounting (FFA) | Written Exam
  8. (two from): Foundations in Taxation (FTX), Financial Management (FFM) or Audit (FAU) | Written Exams

ACCA MBA

Certificate in International Auditing (CertIA)

The Diploma in International Financial Reporting (DipIFR) can be studied online. This means you can fit your studies around your work and social commitments. The Diploma can be completed in three to six months.

To complete the Certificate in International Auditing, you will need to:

ACCA Qualification

In order to become a fully qualified ACCA member, you will need to complete: 14 qualification exams A Professional Ethics module A minimum of three years practical experience The ACCA qualification exam syllabus is divided into two levels: the Fundamentals level and the Professional level. Both need to be passed in order to become qualified. The Fundamentals level is split between a Knowledge module and a Skills module. The Knowledge module (consisting of three papers) introduces you to the core areas of financial and management accounting. Specific technical areas of accountancy are then studied in the Skills module (made up of six papers). The Professional level is divided into the Essentials module (three papers) and the Options module (two papers from a choice of four). Both modules are set at an intellectual level equivalent to a master’s degree. The papers build on the technical knowledge you will have already acquired and explore more advanced skills, techniques and values.
