The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) has over 32,000 members with members in over 50 other countries. There are various different categories of membership that are graded upon a mix of academic qualifications, experience and achievement. The grades of membership are Chartered Fellow (CFIOSH) Chartered Fellows of the IOSH are the highest grade and have been able to demonstrate an outstanding contribution to the discipline and profession of health and safety.
All Chartered Fellows are required to maintain a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record - standard for most chartered professionals. Chartered Member (CMIOSH) The next grade is a Chartered Member. IOSH Chartered members are required to maintain a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record. Graduate Member (Grad IOSH) Graduates of the Institution can use the designatory letters Grad IOSH. These professionals are academically qualified to become Chartered Members, and will be in the process of achieving their CPD commitment. Technician Member (Tech IOSH) Technician Members of the Institution are entitled to use the designatory letters Tech IOSH. Techinican members require approved educational qualifications at a lower level than graduates, in addition to professional experience.
Affiliate Affiliate level is for those who have an interest in, or are employed in occupational safety and health.
